What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

About National Association of Underwater Instructors

NAUI Worldwide is a dive certification and training organization headquartered in Riverview, Florida. Its stated mission is to deliver internationally recognized diving certifications that prepare divers to operate safely and responsibly in aquatic environments. NAUI offers training across a range of disciplines including entry-level, specialty, technical, leadership, public safety, and scientific diving, and maintains a specific Armed Forces Programs initiative. The organization operates 65 VA-approved testing centers worldwide and holds over 1,000 positions globally through its affiliate network.

Through its DoD SkillBridge program, NAUI places interns at 41 locations across 16 states, including Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Nevada, New York, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, and virtual options. The program runs in two tracks: an Employment Skills Training Program and a Job Training Program.

In both tracks, interns first complete training to become a NAUI dive professional at one of the VA-approved testing centers. Following that, NAUI places interns with dive affiliates where they gain hands-on experience in business operations, sales, and gear maintenance. Alternatively, interns may be placed as a Divemaster or Instructor on a boat in the Keys or as boat crew on a liveaboard in the Caribbean or Bahamas. Interns may use their GI Bill benefits toward the certification portion of the program.
