About HiredTroops

HiredTroops helps transitioning service members find and use DoD SkillBridge programs. It is free to the troop, and it stays free.

The problem

SkillBridge is one of the better benefits available on the way out, and it is hard to use. The official list is long and uneven. Some programs are active and take people every cycle. Others have not answered an email in a year. The listing rarely tells you which is which, and you find out after you have spent a month of your transition window on it.

Meanwhile the paperwork is its own project, the timing rules are easy to get wrong, and everyone you ask gives you a slightly different answer.

What we are building

• A searchable directory of SkillBridge programs, kept current rather than published once and left alone.
• Honest annotations. If a program looks inactive, or the location list is stale, or the requirements are stricter than the listing suggests, we say so.
• Plain guidance on eligibility, timing, and what your command needs to sign.
• A civilian resume built from your record, at no cost to you.

Who pays

Employers and partners pay us. Service members do not, and there is no upgrade, no premium tier, and no point later where the price stops being zero. If that ever changes, it would not be HiredTroops anymore.

That arrangement has an obvious risk, so we are direct about it. Being paid by employers is a reason to be more careful about what we tell you, not less. We would rather tell you a program is not worth your window and lose the placement.

Who runs it

HiredTroops is a veteran-founded site, operated by SyncRevenue LLC out of San Antonio, Texas. It is built by people who have been through the transition and remember how little of it was explained.

We are not affiliated with the Department of Defense, and we are careful not to imply otherwise. We do not run SkillBridge. We help you navigate it.
