What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

Job Description: Airbus is looking for an Aircraft Quality Inspector to join our team. You will be part of the team responsible for the execution and confirmation of quality inspections as part of the production process with an emphasis on the aircraft structure and mechanical systems. Airbus is an authorized DoD SkillBridge partner (per DoDI 1322.29). This 180-day program allows transitioning service members to leverage their military technical expertise in a high-precision aerospace environment. SkillBridge Eligibility: Active-duty service member within 180 days of separation. Written Commander (O-4 or above) authorization. Must have current work authorization for U.S. positions. Meet the Team: The team at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facilities help assemble the finest aircraft in the world, along with three production lines for the A220 and A320 and A350 Family aircraft. On the shop floor you’ll be surrounded by individuals who are passionate about aviation and skilled in areas like electrical, structure and quality. Join our team and help build the next generation of aircraft. Your challenges: Execute technical inspections in the production process of the aircraft in the context of the authorization of manufacturer operation Prepare and perform visual, incoming, first article, final inspections during aircraft manufacture for compliance with design specifications, customers and certification requirements. Document the technical inspections performed in the multiple production orders SAP-based and the relevant SAL-based IT systems by inspection marks and complete other aircraft documents as well as prepare first article inspection reports. Support troubleshooting, Functional Test Procedures(FTPs) and participate in Quality Survey requests. Compile all technical data of non-conformance in order to launch the NCMS-based quality discrepancy sheets for the professional assessment in accordance with the manufacturing engineering documentation. Document all the results of the technical inspector in the FLEXNET/NCMS/SAP based IT system. Attain skills to perform audits of Non-Conformance Rework Orders as part of the Material Review Board (MRB).Perform audits/reviews of workbooks to validate PV approval and process adherence. Track and maintain components during the Non Conformance process. Perform other duties as assigned

What the work involves

Your boarding pass: Education: High school diploma or GED.FAA Airframe & Powerplant License including inspection authorization is preferred. Experience:3 years of experience as a Quality Inspector in an aviation company or military aviation equivalent with an emphasis on mechanical and/or structural components and assemblies. Previous experience in a mechanic or technician role is highly desirable Airline or military aviation experience is desirable Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities: Knowledge of Quality Management Systems. Knowledge of drawing systems, inspection plans, and inspection coordination. Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and tools used in the production line. Handling and use of inspection tools of the length measuring techniques (mechanical, optical, electrical)Physical Requirements: Onsite or remote: 100% onsite Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings; Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals. Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification. Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of tools and equipment including hydraulic lifts and arms. Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg while engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects. Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/14kg. Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas and on the shop floor. Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at the computer and in meetings. Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
