What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

Its divisions cover equipment sales, rentals, power systems, truck centers, bus sales, and engineered solutions.

The SkillBridge program runs out of Macon, Georgia, and is structured as a technician apprenticeship aimed at service members within 180 days of separation. The program runs between four and six months, totaling 640 to 960 hours of training. Participants work alongside qualified technicians and Yancey-certified instructors, following a structured curriculum that covers basic hydraulics, electronics, and engines, along with business-specific systems such as SIS, ET, and Service Link, and company procedures including SLAM reports and service report writing. Each participant receives a career development book during training.

The work environment involves standing and walking for most of the day, potential exposure to extreme weather and loud noise, and physical requirements that include wearing personal protective equipment, working under equipment, and lifting up to 100 pounds. Summary

Are you planning to transition out of the military to the civilian sector? Do you enjoy working with your hands? Do you have a natural knack for fixing and repairing things? Are you interested in a career as a diesel technician? Yancey's SkillBridge Technician Apprenticeship is a training program for U.S. Military Service Members within or nearing 180-days of separation from active duty. You will complete a structured learning program that builds skill sets to become a Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician at Yancey Bros. Co.

Eligibility

- 18 years of age or older.- The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.- No experience necessary.- Meet Yancey employment requirements. All mechanical testing, background checks, and drug screening will be conducted.

What the work involves

Yancey's SkillBridge Technician Apprenticeship will include hands-on training alongside qualified technicians and Yancey certified instructors for 4-6 months (640 hrs - 960 hrs). We will provide a career development book to each service member during training. Topics will include: basic hydraulics, electronics, and engines; business specific systems (SIS, ET, and Service Link); business specific procedures (SLAM reports and Service Report writing); Yancey / CAT specific systems and repair procedures. About the Program:- Follow an outline of class material, hands-on training, and process / procedure experiences under the supervision of your mentor to prepare you for a career as a Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician. - Includes a structured task / accomplishment check-in cycle. Environmental Job Requirements:- Environment: Most of your time is spent standing/walking. May work in extreme weather conditions and around loud noises.- Physical: Will require appropriate Personal Protection Equipment to be worn. Must be able to operate and climb underneath equipment and able to lift, carry, and lower up to 100 lbs.- Travel: Not required.
