What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

Summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is proud to support the DoD SkillBridge program and is seeking disciplined, detail-oriented transitioning service members for a Field Engineer opportunity within our Commercial Division in the Pensacola, FL area. This hands-on role is designed to translate military leadership, planning, and technical experience into the commercial construction environment. The Field Engineer will support day-to-day field operations and work closely with the Project Superintendent, Foremen, and project team to ensure safe, efficient, and well-documented construction activities. This position is ideal for service members with experience in engineering, construction, logistics, operations, or technical supervision who are preparing for a civilian career in construction management.

What the work involves

Key Responsibilities Assist field leadership with site layout, coordination, and daily construction activities Support planning and execution of work by reviewing drawings and specifications Prepare and manage field purchase orders and material tracking Maintain accurate project logs, reports, and schedules Identify field issues and assist in preparing Requests for Information (RFIs)Review, process, and track shop drawings and submittals Maintain as-built drawings reflecting actual field conditions Collect and organize Operations & Maintenance (O&M) documentation Assist with subcontractor scope review and coordination Support material purchasing, expediting, and deliveries Distribute project documentation and maintain document control Attend project meetings, record meeting minutes, and distribute action items Assist with short-term and long-term scheduling Uphold Wharton-Smith safety standards and jobsite procedures Preferred Military Experience (No Degree Required)This role values military experience over formal education.
