This SkillBridge program provides transitioning service members with hands-on training in a commercial aviation Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) environment. Participants work alongside experienced technicians while learning aviation maintenance procedures, safety practices, and regulatory compliance used in the civilian aviation industry. What the work involves

PRIMARY RESPONSBILITIES:- Perform routine and scheduled aircraft inspections in accordance with FAA regulations and company maintenance programs.- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.- Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure aircraft are safe, airworthy, and ready for service.- Read and interpret technical manuals, engineering documents, service bulletins, and maintenance logs.- Remove, repair, and reinstall aircraft components such as panels, control surfaces, and landing gear.- Utilize specialized tools and diagnostic equipment to verify system performance and resolve discrepancies.- Accurately complete maintenance records, work orders, and compliance documentation.- Collaborate with fellow technicians, inspectors, and supervisors to meet project timelines and operational requirements.- Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to all safety protocols, including hazardous material handling.TOP CANDIDATES WILL POSSESS:- 4+ years related experience in aircraft maintenance, mechanical systems repair, or technical troubleshooting- Experience in an MRO, airline, or aerospace maintenance environment- Familiarity with FAA Part 145 operations (depot/hangar level maintenance) and documentation- Strong understanding of basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic principles- Ability to read and follow technical manuals, schematics, and regulatory documentation- Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment- Basic computer skills for documentation and work order entry- Strong safety awareness and ability to handle tools and materials safely- Ability to work independently and within a teamOTHER REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:- Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs., work in confined spaces and in noisy environments- Ability to occasionally travel for work assignments- Ability to maintain a tool inventory in alignment with shop requirements- Ability to obtain and retain an airport AOA badge- Ability to work overtime and various shifts as business needs requireWHY JOIN ELLIOTT: At Elliott Aviation, you're not just joining a company, you are becoming part of a legacy built on service, craftsmanship, and trust. Here are the daily responsibilities of an A&P Technician: • Perform troubleshooting, installations, removals, and inspections on various aircraft. • General mechanical and electrical maintenance and complex repairs on aircraft structures and systems. • Consult maintenance blueprints, manuals, and other documents to assist with troubleshooting and repairs. • Complete tasks within allotted time frames in accordance with FAA (or equivalent) and company standards. • Perform all assigned tasks in a safe and timely manner. • Operate ground support equipment as required. Here is what is required to succeed: • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) or progress towards obtaining (military exp counts!) • Minimum of 3 years’ work experience as an Aircraft Technician (preferred) • MRO experience, CRJ airframe experience and/or Military aircraft maintenance experience (Depot/Isochronal/Phase inspections) are a plus. • Strong troubleshooting skills. • Comfortable working with technology / entering aircraft maintenance actions into a computer-based system. • Ability to effectively communicate aircraft maintenance actions both verbally and in writing. Here are the daily responsibilities of a Quality Inspector: • Conduct weighing procedures in accordance with customers’ recommended practices and procedures. • Upon A/C arrival, obtain associated documentation, complete A/C records and document receipt to perform incoming inspections. • Coordinate inspection activities in compliance with computer tracking maintenance programs. • Upon receipt, perform inspection of all new, repaired, and rebuilt parts/components for evidence of physical damage, count, and conformity. • Ensure all work packages (orders and forms) as well as records of arrival, maintenance and corrective actions performed, are documented accurately and that all specialized customer (RED, RFE & SRPSA) and regulatory paperwork (FAA, FAR/CAA, etc.) is complete and required approvals have been obtained. • Research aircraft drawings and technical data (i.e., REO, EINO, EO, EA) • Perform walk around inspection of aircraft for release from maintenance. • Perform return to service process and ensure assigned aircraft meets all airworthiness requirements prior to return to service. • Provide data to customers as requested. • Train, coach and mentor technicians and other inspectors in the performance of duties in area(s) of qualification • Assist with research activities. • Perform conformity inspections. • Conduct Internal Procedural Audits • Perform research functions, including aircraft records research, aircraft configuration assessment and maintenance requirement determination based on research. Here is what is required to succeed: • 5 years of experience as an A&P Technician / Aircraft Maintenance Technician, ideally in a heavy maintenance environment. • Familiarity with aircraft inspections under FAR 145, 121, 135 or through the military, on military aircraft. • FAA-issued Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license or progress towards acquiring. • Have a working knowledge of special tooling and machinery used in detail inspection. • Have a working knowledge of aircraft part fabrication process. • Ability to calculate tolerances using specialty / calibrated measuring devices. • Ability to read and interpret engineering documents. • Ability to use and interpret a variety of precision measurement instruments and special tooling. • Must be able to pass hearing and vision tests.
