What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

Summary

Tribe is an alternative Private Equity firm that acquires and operates a portfolio of small businesses in Central Oregon. Our SkillBridge program offers candidates the opportunity to get exposure to Mergers/Acquisitions, and well as smallbusiness operations. No two days are alike. One day our candidates will work on new acquisition financial modelingand due diligence. The next they may be working with the operations team of one of our portfolio companies, assisting with the implementation of a new operating process. Candidates will leave the Skill Bridge program with a thorough understanding of the small business Private Equity career field, as well as small business operations and management.

What the work involves

Skillbridge candidates will serve in a Chief of Staff capacity to the two partners. Candidates will be spend time at the organizational level working on special projects and providing recommendations to the partners on strategic decisions. This may include analyzing a future acquisition, or it may include researching and pitching a new payroll software to implement for one of the portfolio companies. Candidates will also spend time at the operating companies, getting a sense for small business operations and providing company leadership teams with support and advisement. No two days will be alike, as small business ownership is full of unique challenges every day. These opportunities will give candidates the ability to see their decisions in action. If you are looking for an office job with a suit and tie, this is not it.
