What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

About The Manufacturing Institute

The Manufacturing Institute is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Washington, DC, focused on growing and supporting the manufacturing industry's skilled workforce. Its Heroes MAKE America program is designed to help transitioning service members move into careers in manufacturing by providing structured training, certifications, and direct connections to employers. The program operates across 6 locations in 4 states: Georgia, Kansas, North Carolina, and Texas.

SkillBridge participants in Heroes MAKE America complete in-person training that combines soft skills development, online coursework, classroom instruction, and hands-on lab work. Depending on the track, program length runs from 31 to 90 days. Tracks available include Logistics, Manufacturing Operations, and Industrial Systems. Participants who complete the Industrial Systems track have the opportunity to earn up to 7 industry-recognized certifications from the Smart Automation Certification Alliance, covering areas such as electrical systems, motor control, programmable controllers, pneumatic systems, and mechanical power systems.

Throughout the program, participants attend weekly tours of manufacturing facilities and take part in Heroes Connect, a virtual introduction platform that connects them with manufacturers who are actively hiring. Program managers also facilitate introductions to employers nationwide based on each participant's preferred work location. Graduates have gone on to roles in production, maintenance, logistics and supply, warehousing and material handling, and direct leadership positions such as production supervisor, area manager, and operations roles. All military occupational codes are eligible to apply.
