What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

Cheese-40lb Tower Operator

Summary

Responsible for operating equipment to vacuum seal forty pound blocks of cheese. Responsible for maintaining steady supply of vacuum sealed blocks to the case packaging area. Will be on one of the following shifts A or C (night shifts) 6:00pm to 6:00 am, B or D (day shifts) 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, M-F day 7:00 am-4:00 pm, or M-F night 7:00 pm to 4:00 am.

What the work involves

Operation of gussetters, betavacs and conveyors. Reworking misshapen blocks and blocks with big missing corners back into the cowl. When re-bagging leakers use fingers to puncture bag and tear open. Keeping a supply of 40# bags near the tower area and keep towers full. Understand meanings of lights on towers and how to fix issues with them. Sanitary collection of in process samples both at startup of production and end of run. Ensure that cheese is not left on the table more than 10 minutes before re-worked into the cowl. Periodic inspections of towers. Keeping area generally clean during production (picking up trash/waste cheese off the floor). Tower preparation for CIP. Tower CIP/ Cowl CIP. Ensure that the barrel liner clamp is washed during CIP daily. Tower area environmental cleaning (cleaning up, logs, inspect area before leaving etc.). May perform task assigned by Team Leader or Assistant Team Leader. Keeping records in accordance with good manufacturing process and local and state laws. Utilize GPS processes, driving zero losses and upholds the culture of Southwest Cheese non-negotiables. Shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct. Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)

What the work involves

By the end of Hands on Training, the trainee will: Have general knowledge of components (Arena, and Tosca). Have general knowledge of banding machine operation and cleaning. Inspect each box for correct assembly. Keep a supply of 640# boxes on line at all times (10-20 boxes). Identify bad components and reject them. Assemble boxes by hand when banding machine is down. Place a blue tube liner in each box after it gets made and cheese cloth on dolly. Ensure environmental cleaning is done and signed off by the end of each shift. Inspect each block for foreign material: Plastic, metal, excessive peppers, other kinds of cheese, etc. Place clean slip sheet on cheese and fold bag. Place boards and irons on boxes (reject any damaged components). Keeps records in accordance with good manufacturing process and local and state laws. Utilizes GPS processes, driving zero losses and upholds the culture of Southwest Cheese non-negotiables. Comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct. Cheese-Milk Unloader

Summary

Operator will be responsible to unloader raw milk for milk tankers with pumps. Test all product that comes through the bays, verify manifests, samples, and tags per truck, maintain logs and communicate any irregularities to Team Leader. Will be on one of the following shifts A or C (night shifts) 6:00pm to 6:00 am, B or D (day shifts) 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, M-F day 7:00 am-4:00 pm, or M-F night 7:00 pm to 4:00 am.

What the work involves

By the end of Hands on Training, the trainee will be able to: Communicate with lab; tankers that have passed testing and which trucks to CIP. • Verify incoming wash tags are completed correctly and within time limits. • Record wet load time, date, location and initials on back of wash tag. • Communicate with milk tech if needed for silo selection or CIP order. • Open manway vent, connect for unloading. • CIP trucks that need it; enter tanker #, connect hoses, clean manway, outlets, caps. • Fill out wash tags with seal numbers, time, date, operator initials. • Remove and clean milk caps before CIP. • Be able to connect bays for line flush, CIP. • Follow and complete environmental cleaning schedule stored in lab. • Ensure all broken tanker seals are placed in buckets. • Foam clean and scrub all bays and unloading pipes if needed. • Know what must be done before a tanker is unloaded. • Pick up seals and garbage outside bays on driveway. • Make sure receiving bays are clean. • Utilize GPS processes, driving zero losses and upholds the culture of Southwest Cheese non-negotiables. Comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
