MOU status: DoD MOU expires October 27, 2026. That is inside 90 days, so confirm the program is still running before you build a package around it.

What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

Summary

The Fleet Gap Initiative connects NAFA member fleet leaders with mission ready military service members, veterans, and military spouses who are eager to transition into careers in fleet management. Through the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program, your fleet can host active duty service members for hands-on training while they continue to receive their military pay and benefits. This is your opportunity to bring proven leaders, disciplined problem solvers, and operationally minded professionals into your organization.

Eligibility

*Prior service in roles related to transportation, logistics, motor pool, maintenance, or supply chain is preferred.** *Demonstrated experience managing equipment readiness, scheduling, or mission-critical assets.

What the work involves

The Fleet Gap SkillBridge Apprenticeship prepares transitioning Service members for full-time civilian fleet technician and leadership roles. Participants gain technical expertise, civilian workforce readiness, and hands-on shop experience. The program combines structured classroom training, leadership development, and on-the-job training with the National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA) partners and hiring managers.
