What the work involves
The Agricultural Equipment Mechanic at Seneca Foods is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and overhauling various types of agricultural and industrial equipment, including tractors, harvesters, conveyors, engines, and other field machinery. The mechanic ensures all machinery functions optimally for planting, harvesting, and processing operations. This position requires mechanical aptitude, familiarity with hydraulics and electronics, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Essential Functions, Responsibilities and Job Duties: • Responsible for the daily repair & maintenance of agriculture equipment for the location. • Maintain cost control over equipment for budget purposes • Responsible for maintaining an even, constant and sufficient flow of product that • meets or exceeds company standards during harvest season • Work in conjunction with Area Supervisors to maintain production & quality • Maintains proper housekeeping • Ensure safety rules and regulations are followed and enforced • Assist with maintenance in other areas of the facility when needed

Essential Functions, Responsibilities and Job Duties: • Assist with overhauling and repairs as needed • Ability to operate equipment and tools in a safe manner • Assist in welding and using a torch cutter • Install, replace and adjust chains, sprockets, shakers, motors, drives & gearheads • Maintains all records, charts, and logs accurately • Cut, form, and assemble parts to construct machinery and equipment • Inspect and test machinery and equipment • Oil and grease equipment as needed • Assist in developing and maintaining a regular maintenance schedule for equipment • Requisition repair parts and supplies as needed
