What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

Summary

Pavion is a global provider of fire protection, security, and communications solutions. Participants will receive hands-on training in the inspection, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of fire alarm systems while working alongside experienced field technicians. Ideal candidates have military, trade school, or technical backgrounds and an interest in developing a career in life safety and security technologies.

What the work involves

Basic Qualifications • High School Diploma or GED required • Trade school graduate, military experience, or equivalent technical training • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment • Mechanical and technical aptitude with the ability to learn new systems and technologies • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds and work on ladders, lifts, and construction sites as needed • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications • Military experience in electronics, communications, networking, electrical maintenance, avionics, or related technical fields • Experience installing, servicing, inspecting, or troubleshooting fire alarm, security, access control, CCTV, low voltage, or communications systems • Trade school or vocational training in electronics, electrical systems, networking, or related technical disciplines • Knowledge of NFPA codes and fire alarm systems • NICET certification or willingness to pursue certification • Experience working directly with customers in a service environment • Experience reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, or construction drawings • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
