Veteran Futures Academy is Operation Lifeline’s in-person construction pre-apprenticeship program for transitioning service members and veterans in Northeast Florida. The program provides classroom instruction, industry-recognized credential preparation, supervised hands-on construction training, employability skills, and pathways into registered apprenticeship, construction employment, or continued skilled trades training.

Eligibility

Participants must be eligible for SkillBridge participation through their military command, be within their approved transition window, and be able to participate in an in-person training program in Northeast Florida. Participants should have an interest in residential construction, rehabilitation, skilled trades employment, registered apprenticeship pathways, or related hands-on career fields. Participants must be able to safely participate in classroom instruction, supervised field training, and basic construction-related activities.

What the work involves

Participants train for entry-level residential construction roles, apprenticeship-track positions, and construction operations pathways. Training focuses on construction safety, basic tool use, materials handling, construction math, communication, employability skills, supervised field application, and residential construction and rehabilitation practices.
