What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

Summary

Mission Family Dental offers a 24-week, in-person SkillBridge training program designed to prepare transitioning service members for civilian careers in dental practice operations. Participants receive structured hands-on training in dental assisting, front office administration, insurance and billing, treatment coordination, patient communication, compliance, and daily dental office systems.

Eligibility

Must be eligible for Skillbridge participation and have received approval from the service member's military command. Must be available for up to 24 weeks of in-person training in San Diego, California. Strong communication, professionalism, reliability, basic computer skills, and an interest in dental practice operations are preferred. No previous dental experience is required.

What the work involves

The dental office employee SkillBridge participant will complete supervised, hands-on training within an active dental practice. Training may include chairside dental assisting, steriliz Ation and infection control, patient scheduling, records management, insurance verification, dental billing, treatment coordination, patient communication, office systems, HIPAA and OSHA compliance, dealership development, and carrier readiness preparation. Participants will rotate through clinical and administrative responsibilities based on their experience, career goals, training needs, and applicable California dental regulations. No previous dental experience is required. The program is designed to help service members transition to civilian opportunities such as a Dental assistant, front office coordinator, insurance and billing specialist, Treatment Coordinator, or Dental Practice Operation team member.
