What these labels mean
MOU active
An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon
The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired
The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.

What the work involves

Once complete with the Commercial HVAC Service Technician training SkillBridge members will be prepared for a role as a commercial HVAC service technician. Commercial HVAC technicians are in very high demand throughout the country. In this program SkillBridge members will learn how to serve customers in HVAC startup and servicing commercial HVAC systems and products while fostering positive customer interactions through identifying system issues and completing repairs. While in the roll of Commercial HVAC Service Technician Trainee DOD SkillBridge members will mentor and train with our fully qualified Commercial HVAC Service Technicians allowing for detailed daily training on commercial HVAC equipment.

HVAC Field Service Support

What the work involves

We are seeking Field Service Support that will play a critical role in supporting branch operations by ensuring timely delivery, setup, maintenance, and retrieval of HVAC rental equipment. This position requires a hands-on, customer-focused individual with mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced, field-based environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Prioritize and execute delivery and pickup schedules; adapt to changing job site needs. • Safely operate company vehicles up to 26,000 lbs to transport HVAC rental equipment • Install and set up portable cooling equipment at commercial job sites. • Inspect, clean, and perform basic repairs on rental equipment to ensure operational readiness. • Maintain accurate equipment inventory and track units using inventory management software. • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as needed. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the branch and on job sites. • Communicate effectively with the Branch Manager regarding job requirements and customer needs. • Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers, contractors, and vendors. • Participate in rotating 24/7 on-call schedule for emergency service support. Education/Experience: • High School Diploma or equivalent required. • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. • Ability to lift 50lbs. and work in varying environmental conditions (indoor/outdoor, hot/cold, noisy). • Must be able to pass a medical DOT exam. • Basic mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and handheld/mobile devices. • Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment preferred. • Strong communication, customer service, math, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or collaboratively in a team setting. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This role is based primarily in the Portable Cooling shop/warehouse and requires frequent travel to and from job sites using company vehicles. Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, construction environments, and HVAC equipment. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee tosuccessfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable the individuals with disabilities to perform the essentials functions. • Must be able lift, bend, climb, and stand for extended period of time. • Must be able to lift 50. • Must be able to pass DOT medical exam. • Standing for long periods of time (4-5 hours) occasionally • Use of physical protective equipment (PPE) is required.
