What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

Summary

McLellan Industries' SkillBridge program offers transitioning service members a 24-week, full-time, hands-on manufacturing training experience at our Hanford, California production facility. Trainees develop practical skills in welding, fabrication, truck body assembly, hydraulic and mechanical systems, and quality inspection — with a pathway toward DOT welding certification. This program is designed to produce job-ready candidates for careers in heavy manufacturing and industrial equipment production.

Eligibility

Open to all transitioning active duty service members within 180 days of separation or retirement. No prior manufacturing experience required — all skills will be developed through the program. Candidates should be willing to work in a production shop environment and commit to the full 24-week schedule.

What the work involves

Trainees will work alongside experienced production staff in a real shop environment, progressing through structured rotations covering: shop safety and industrial fundamentals; basic shop skills including measurement, layout, and print reading; welding and fabrication (joint prep, fit-up, weld execution, and finishing); truck and equipment assembly (frame/body integration, fastener installation, component mounting); hydraulic, mechanical, and basic electrical system exposure; quality and inspection awareness; and professional workforce development. The program is progressive — trainees take on increasing responsibility as competency is demonstrated. The goal is full readiness for employment as a welder, fabricator, assembler, or truck technician support role upon transition.
