Any Mission, Anytime, Anywhere! As an international Part-135 air carrier, with a leadership team comprised of over 150 years of experience, Legends Airways is ready to service all customer needs. From last-minute expedited freight to cross-country operations, our twenty-four-hour departments of pilots, mechanics, and flight followers are prepared to meet your needs. This Internship Program is designed to prepare service members to transition to an FAA Certified Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic, role post-separation.
Eligibility
At least 30 months of practical experience in performing duties related to powerplant maintenance. An applicable MOS or AFSC in aircraft maintenance or a similar field.
What the work involves
As a part of the Aviation Maintenance Development Program, this internship is a unique opportunity for transitioning service members to immerse themselves in a civilian aircraft maintenance operation with a Cargo Airline. Key Responsibilities Include:-Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft & components-Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance inspections and work orders-Utilize maintenance manuals to identify repair procedures-Examine replacement aircraft parts for serviceability -Proper utilization of hand and power tools -Assist with aircraft maintenance record upkeep-Assist with any regulatory inspections and inquiries from the FAA-Track component and bench stock inventory and reorder as necessary -Communicate with the dispatch and operations team on aircraft status and availability Intern Requirements: These requirements will also match the requirements of the job title this program is designed to prepare participants to enter post-separation.-Receive commander approval and be within 180 days of separation/retirement to participate in the Legends Airways SkillBridge internship. -At least 30 months of practical experience in performing duties related to aircraft maintenance.-An applicable MOS or AFSC in aircraft maintenance or a similar field.-Ability to work collaboratively with fellow maintainers, instructors, and flight students as well as independently.

What the work involves
As a part of the Supply Chain Development Program, this internship is a unique opportunity for transitioning service members to immerse themselves in a civilian supply chain operation. Key Responsibilities Include:- Ensure daily accountability of inventory, and maintain required stock levels- Coordinate purchase orders with the Maintenance department to maintain inventory- Manage core exchange program with established vendors- Ship consignment inventory to operational locations during AOG event- Track and report on both inbound & outbound shipments - Ensure part traceability is established and documented correctly- Maintain inventory and aircraft part records using the provided software- Create shipping labels for parts, tools, and equipment when needed - Evaluate and determine the most efficient shipping route and method- Respond to emails/calls from customers, carriers, and vendors Intern Requirements: These requirements will also match the requirements of the job title this program is designed to prepare participants to enter post-separation.- Receive commander approval and be within 180 days of separation/retirement to participate in the Legends Airways SkillBridge internship. - At least 24 months of practical experience in performing duties related to inventory management or supply chain operations.- An applicable MOS or AFSC in Logistics Management or a similar field.- Ability to work collaboratively with aircraft maintainers, partnered companies, company leadership as well as independently.
