What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

Summary

The Midas Touch LLC is a highly competitive marine charter company based in the Florida Keys that specializes in crewed yacht charters, yacht management, navigation instruction and tourism hospitality.

Eligibility

Eligible for honorable discharge from Naval or Coast Guard service or a military spouse/veteran.

What the work involves

Upon completion of this training, the candidate shall possess the following skills:1. The day-to-day operation of a sub-53-foot vessel in the capacity of both captain and mate. Duties include but not limited to line handling, anchoring, docking, and various shipboard mechanical skills. 2. Ensure compliance with State and Coast Guard safety regulations as well as manage onboard safety equipment through periodic maintenance schedules. Brief onboard safety and emergency procedures to all clients and passengers.3. Basic skills required to obtain a Merchant Mariner Credential (Masters or OUPV) Captain’s License through the US Coast Guard’s regional exam centers. 4. Manage all marina guideline and federal compliance for both Midas Touch employees and charter client personnel including but not limited to ocean environmental regulations and waste discharge/spill response procedures.5. Communicate and schedule charters in a customer service setting. Book charter dates, communicate with clients, and manage business transactions in the interest of The Midas Touch LLC.6. A fluent understanding of maritime navigation, chart reading, dead reckoning, tides and currents, maritime automated identification systems, global positioning, and chart lights and buoys. This includes marine navigation “rules of the road”, seamanship, and requirements for vessel lighting in a low visibility setting.7. Enhanced customer service skills through hospitality training in a tourism service industry, I.E. shipboard service etiquette and stewardship and local marketing.
