What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

DoD SkillBridge Eligibility • Has served at least 180 days on active duty • Is within 12 months of separation or retirement • Will receive an honorable discharge • Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS • Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months • Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship. Candidate will be required to satisfy the requirements for a TSA access certification. (Costs will be paid for by Intertec Engineering.)

Intertec is an engineering-focused organization that provides unique, challenging, and exciting opportunities supporting many industries including Aerospace/Aviation. Intertec Engineering is seeking a CNC Mill/ Lathe Operator – Apprentice to join our Arizona team. This apprenticeship will work with our existing team in manufacturing machined parts in the Aerospace industry. This CNC professional will be a hands-on, and will be a big part of Intertec Engineerings future in the manufacturing of machined parts. The Intertec Engineering Apprentice Program is an approved SkillBridge Program under the Dept. Of Defense. The Intertec Engineering program is an opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual apprenticeship during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. The Intertec Engineering Program is open to all ranks and experience levels. SkillBridge participants SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Intertec Engineering, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members. Responsibilities For This Apprentice Position Are: Intertec Engineering has developed a specific Apprentice and Internship program thru DOD SkillBridge utilizing the DOD guidance for SkillBridge. This job involves machining parts per specification by setting up and operating CNC equipment. The Machinist is responsible for: quality of the product by performing both in-process and final part inspections, care and maintenance of the equipment, assuring tooling and materials readiness, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This position will require the individual to provide training to others in all aspects of CNC equipment setup, operation and maintenance. Competencies For Success • Strong interpersonal communication skills with ability to work with others at all levels of the organization • Proven track record training mid to upper skill level machine operators • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to prioritize • Excellent time management skills • Ability to work independently Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, diverse environment • Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence • High energy, results oriented, self-motivated / self-reliant, team player Basic Qualifications • A minimum of a 2-year technical degree and/or a certificate in machine shop technology. • 2 Years related machining experience. Able to work with limited guidance in a team environment. • Prefer experience machining energetic materials. • Must have experience running manual machines and performing set-ups • Experience with OSP and/or Fanuc Controller preferred • Ability to read and interpret production specifications, production diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical specifications (English) • Ability to read and interpret blue prints • Knowledgeable in GD&T • Must be capable of using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, dial bores, thread gauges, and basic measuring tools. • G Axis Machining knowledge preferred • Knowledge of G-Code and M-Code a plus. • Knowledge of CAM software (Fusion 360, Mastercam, etc.) desired. • Experience in following written set-up instructions and /or performing unique set-ups • Demonstrated ability to resolve unforeseen, unique issues as they arise in machining a part(s) • Experience in complex measurements and advanced shop math calculations relative to tolerances, dimensions, tooling, and feeds and speeds. • Ability to understand and work with knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and disciplines. • Perform other related work assignments special projects, and other duties as assigned by the Machine Shop Supervisor. • Experience fabricating component parts where set-ups are non-routine and tolerances are difficult to acquire and maintain. • Knowledgeable on materials and machining processes • Able to work overtime and weekends as required • Able to work in a standing position for extended time periods • Able to lift or move a minimum of 35 -50 lbs. For up to 12 hours per day; pushing or pulling 35 -50+ lbs. Occasionally throughout the work day.
