What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

Summary

This SkillBridge training program provides transitioning service members to a civilian career with practical exposure to the energy and engineering consulting industry while supporting the project management team. Participants will learn the fundamentals of energy and sustainability consulting, assist with project coordination, and develop professional communication skills. The program will translate military leadership, intelligence analysis, and operational coordination experience into private sector competencies including project planning, business analysis, stakeholder management, and operational improvement. The participant will work closely with a project manager and multidisciplinary engineering teams to observe and support real projects involving energy efficiency, sustainability, engineering consulting, and industrial operations. The program emphasizes translating military leadership into project management, professional communication, and analytical thinking to prepare the participant for a civilian career in project management and other leadership positions.

What the work involves

Participants completing the program will be able to:1. Understand the fundamentals of the energy, engineering, and sustainability consulting industries.2. Apply core project management principles including planning, coordination, and tracking deliverables.3. Support project managers in organizing project documentation, timelines, and stakeholder communication.4. Develop professional presentation and public speaking skills.5. Gain experience working with multidisciplinary technical teams.6. Analyze energy and operational data to support project development.7. Develop strategic recommendations supported by data and analysis. 8. Prepare and present project summaries or technical findings to internal teams and executive leadership. Training Activities Participants may engage in the following activities: • Learning the basics of Microsoft Suites (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) • Professional development workshops and training • Job shadowing and mentorship • Participate in internal project meetings and client calls • Preparing meeting notes and summarizing action items • Assist in development of presentations and reports • Support preparation of proposals or project documentation Skills Development The program emphasizes development of the following skills: Project Management Skills • Project lifecycle understanding • Task tracking and coordination • Stakeholder communication • Documentation and reporting Professional Communication Skills • Presentation development • Public speaking • Meeting facilitation • Technical writing Industry Knowledge • Energy, wastewater and sustainability concepts • Funding programs through Utility Rebates/Incentives and Government Grants • Engineering consulting workflows • Industrial operations and systems • Project delivery in technical consulting environments Additional Professional Skills • Strategic decision making • Critical thinking and problem solving • Teamwork Mentorship & Supervision The participant will report directly to a Project Manager who will provide guidance and oversight throughout the program. Mentorship includes: • Weekly check-ins to review progress and learning goals • Guidance on project management practices • Feedback on presentations and professional development • Exposure to different departments and technical teams • Support pursuing technical certifications (e.g. CAPM, PMP) • Career transition support Performance Evaluation Participant progress will be evaluated through: • Weekly check-ins & feedback • Participation in project support activities • Completion of assigned learning tasks and training courses • Demonstrated improvement in communication and project management knowledge • Final capstone project presentation Expected Outcomes By the end of the program participants should: • Understand how engineering and energy consulting projects are developed and managed • Demonstrate improved communication and presentation skills • Understand basic project management tools and workflows • Gain confidence presenting ideas and technical concepts • Be prepared for roles in project coordination, project management, or consulting in the energy and engineering sectors
