What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

24-Week Hercules Hauling Training Program: Summary The 24-Week Training Program provides a comprehensive curriculum for individuals entering the hauling industry. Weeks 1-4: Focus on safety, hazardous materials, and load management, along with shadowing experienced drivers and understanding routes and schedules. Weeks 5-8: Advanced training in truck operations, weather conditions, and customer service, with real-world driving practice. Weeks 9-12: Learn to troubleshoot mechanical issues, optimize routes, and manage risk, followed by hands-on feedback and skill refinement. Weeks 13-16: Transition to full-time driver duties, including understanding government contracts, working independently, and complying with legal regulations. Weeks 17-20: Dive into business aspects, such as managing costs, building client relationships, and bidding on contracts. Weeks 21-24: Final focus on independent operations, advanced driving techniques, and managing multiple jobs, culminating in a final evaluation and preparation for a successful career in hauling. This program prepares individuals to excel in both technical skills and business management, ensuring success in the hauling industry.

Eligibility

• Must be an active-duty service member eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program (within 180 days of separation or retirement). • Strong interest in logistics, trucking, hauling, or small business operations. • Comfortable working outdoors and around heavy equipment. • Valid state driver’s license required • 2-year minimum CDL Class B • Must be punctual, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a small team. • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks as needed. • Willingness to learn about local regulations, job site safety, and customer service expectations. • Desire to grow into post-service employment or entrepreneurship is a plus. • Veterans, Guard, and Reserve members within their final 180 days on orders are also encouraged to apply.

What the work involves

Hercules Hauling LLC is offering a hands-on SkillBridge internship for transitioning service members interested in logistics, CDL operations, equipment hauling, and small business management. As a participant, you will support day-to-day field and administrative operations of a growing, veteran-owned hauling company. Interns will gain valuable real-world experience in the hauling industry while learning key business functions such as route planning, customer service, equipment operation, safety protocols, and local contracting. Whether you're pursuing a CDL career, want to start your own business, or simply want to understand how logistics companies run, this opportunity will help you transition smoothly into the civilian workforce. This internship is unpaid through the DoD SkillBridge program, but high performers may be offered continued employment or partnership opportunities post-service.
