What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

Course Outline: 3100 Introduction to Arizona CDL, 403200 Safe Operating Practices, 403300 Vehicle Control, 403400 General Driving / Testing 40 Total Class A Commercial Driver's License, 160 Educational Objectives. The CDL Training Program is a condensed program designed to prepare the student to become an entry-level Commercial Truck Driver. This program is designed to meet the needs of the majority of companies across the country. It is the basic foundation of our truck driving programs and meets the needs today for many companies and for many students to get started in the trucking industry. The student will apply for and be prepared to pass the Arizona State Commercial Driver's License written examination, three endorsements, and the three physical skills tests, pretrip vehicle inspection, basic vehicle control skills test, and on-road driving test. COURSE DESCRIPTIONS HDS TRUCK DRIVING INSTITUTE CDL TRAINING PROGRAM CERTIFICATE PROGRAM. 3100 INTRODUCTION TO ARIZONA CDL: Clock Hours 40. This course is designed to introduce the student to different aspects of the trucking industry. Hours of Service (logbooks) teaches students to show proper logging according to Federal Law Section 395 in the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations book (FMCSR). Written Test preparation is designed to prepare and pretest the student in the following areas: General Knowledge, Air brakes, Combination Vehicles, Doubles and Triples, Tanker, Hazardous Materials, Passenger, Log Preparation, Pre-trip Inspection, Proper Application procedure is shown and the student is advised about and assisted in placement. Final Written Test is given at the Arizona Department of Transportation; upon passing the test, the student will receive an Instruction Permit for Training. 3200 SAFE OPERATING PRACTICES: Clock Hours 40. This course is designed to familiarize the student with the basic backing and driving skills needed to pass the Skills test and Road test for the CDL license. This section covers the following: Seat adjustment, Mirrors, Putting the truck in motion, Safe stopping, Continuation of the Pre-trip Inspection, backing procedures - Straight line backing, offset back/left, and parallel parking(conventional). Over-the-Road (OTR): Hauling freight via public highways through the United States, Route usually through the continental 48 states, Often on the road for 3-4 weeks at a time. Solo: Driving solo to transport goods and materials. Team: Two drivers work together and take turns driving; A great choice for couples to spend more time together while earning money. Regional: Transporting freight within a radius of a few hundred miles of a central location. If based in Phoenix, no East Coast runs. Usually on the road for 2-3 weeks at a time. Trainer: Work as an instructor at a CDL school. Owner-Operator: Individuals who own their own tractor-trailer and operate a trucking business. May lease with a motor carrier or operate under their own authority. Local: Drivers stay close to home. Routes usually stay within the state. Many local drivers are home daily or nightly.
