What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

Summary

The participant will learn how to plan, organize, and supervise maintenance work involving pumps, tanks, piping, scrubbers, electrical equipment, production lines, conveyors, and packaging equipment. The participant will also learn how to manage maintenance work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, spare parts, contractors, safety requirements, and environmental compliance. Most of the training will be completed through hands-on work with a maintenance or operations mentor.

Eligibility

• Be an active-duty service member who is eligible for SkillBridge • Receive approval from their military command • Be within their authorized transition period • Be interested in maintenance, manufacturing, engineering, facilities, or operations • Be willing to work in an industrial chemical manufacturing environment • Be able to follow safety rules and wear required personal protective equipment • Be willing to complete hands-on training

What the work involves

A Maintenance Supervisor or Manager is responsible for making sure equipment is properly maintained and repaired so the facility can operate safely and without unnecessary shutdowns. Job duties may include: • Supervising maintenance employees and contractors • Assigning and prioritizing daily maintenance work • Planning preventive and corrective maintenance • Managing work orders through the computerized maintenance management system, or CMMS • Maintaining pumps, tanks, valves, piping, scrubbers, conveyors, filling equipment, and packaging lines • Reviewing equipment problems and helping determine the cause • Managing maintenance parts, supplies, vendors, and purchase requests • Making sure employees follow lockout/tagout and other safety procedures • Coordinating maintenance work with production, operations, engineering, and EHS personnel • Keeping maintenance records needed for inspections and regulatory compliance • Helping reduce equipment failures, production delays, and unplanned downtime • Coaching maintenance employees and leading daily maintenance meetings

Summary

The HASA Regulatory Affairs & Chemical Compliance Fellowship gives transitioning service members hands-on experience in environmental compliance, chemical safety, regulatory reporting, permitting, inspections, and risk management within a chemical-manufacturing company. This is a hybrid fellowship. Fellows must be able to work remotely and report to HASA sites in Southern and Northern California for onsite training, inspections, meetings, and project support. Fellows must have access to a computer and reliable internet connection for remote work, training, documentation, and compliance-tracking tasks. This program is designed to help service members build practical skills for future careers in regulatory affairs, environmental health and safety, chemical compliance, manufacturing, or engineering support.

Eligibility

Preferred applicants are transitioning enlisted service members E-6 and above, or officers O-2 and above, from all military branch with relevant leadership, technical, operational, or compliance-related experience. Preferred military backgrounds include CBRN, bioenvironmental engineering, emergency management, damage control, marine safety, environmental protection, firefighting, engineering, utilities, maintenance, logistics, fuels, transportation, supply, or industrial operations. Strong-fit examples include - Army 74D/74A; Navy DC, HT, MA, AO, MM, EM, AE, and LS; Marine Corps 5711, 5702, and 7051; Air Force 4B0X1, 3E9X1, 3E Series, and 2F0X1; Coast Guard MST, DC, MK, and EM; and equivalent officer or enlisted specialties from any branch. Applicants from other military occupations may also be considered if they have relevant experience, technical aptitude, leadership experience, or a demonstrated interest in regulatory compliance, environmental programs, safety, chemical manufacturing, or industrial operations.

What the work involves

The Regulatory Affairs & Chemical Compliance Fellow will support real compliance work for a chemical-manufacturing company. The fellow will work with compliance leaders and site teams to help with: Reviewing chemical inventories and Safety Data Sheets Tracking permits, inspections, and reporting deadlines Supporting environmental and chemical compliance reports Helping prepare for audits and inspections Reviewing site records and compliance documents Identifying compliance gaps and safety concerns Tracking corrective actions Supporting onsite visits at HASA facilities in Southern and Northern California Completing remote documentation, training, and compliance-tracking work This is not a classroom-only program. Fellows will learn how compliance requirements are used in daily operations and how strong compliance programs help protect employees, facilities, the public, and the environment.
