What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

Participants receive structured, hands-on training alongside experienced manufacturing professionals while remaining on active duty and continuing to receive military pay and benefits from the Department of Defense. Training opportunities may include die making, fabrication, assembly, machine operation, production support, and other advanced manufacturing career paths depending on the selected facility and business needs. Our objective is to help Service Members successfully translate military experience into long-term civilian manufacturing careers while developing valuable technical skills in a safe, team-oriented environment.

What the work involves

Participants will complete a structured manufacturing training program designed to develop the knowledge, technical skills, and professional experience necessary for long-term success in advanced manufacturing. Training may include: • Manufacturing safety and OSHA best practices • Blueprint and technical drawing interpretation • Machine operation and production processes • Fabrication and assembly techniques • Die making fundamentals • Tooling and equipment operation • Quality control and inspection methods • Lean manufacturing principles • Material handling and inventory management • Preventive maintenance practices • Continuous improvement initiatives Participants will progress through a structured learning plan with increasing responsibility under the guidance of experienced mentors. Training is competency-based and focuses on developing technical ability, safety awareness, teamwork, problem solving, and manufacturing best practices.

Training will include: Reading and interpreting CAD drawings, layouts, and job tickets Measuring, cutting, bending, and installing steel rule Assembling dies, strippers, and related tooling Using hand tools and specialized equipment safely Performing visual and dimensional quality inspections Identifying defects and supporting troubleshooting efforts Maintaining organized work areas and following production workflows Documenting work completed in ERP or production systems The program follows a structured 180-day training progression, beginning with safety and foundational skills and advancing toward independent contribution. Participants will be evaluated based on safety, technical skill development, quality, and overall readiness.
