What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

Summary

The DLA Energy provides world class fuel support to the Department of War. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, it will be your duty to ensure fuel provided to the warfighter and other customers meets quality control requirements.

Eligibility

If selected into the SkillBridge program, you will embark on a valuable training opportunity, and it is essential to understand the requirements for a seamless and successful experience. Your first step is to pre-coordinate with your unit to ensure you have a Government Travel Card (GTC), a Common Access Card (CAC), and an active Defense Travel System (DTS) account. These items are critical and must remain active for the entire duration of your training, as they are key to your participation. Upon acceptance into the program, you will arrange and fund your own transportation to the SkillBridge location. Throughout your training, you will be responsible for all personal living expenses, including housing, food, and local transportation. Please budget accordingly, as DLA Energy will not cover any of these living costs. While in the program, you may be selected for additional funded Temporary Duty (TDY) assignments designed to further support your training. In these cases, DLA Energy will fund the travel for these specific opportunities. To take advantage of such assignments, it is imperative that your GTC, CAC, and DTS accounts remain active and ready for use throughout your time with SkillBridge.

What the work involves

• Performs supply chain management quality functions for DLA Energy. • Evaluates contractor’s quality processes, procedures, and documentation for completeness, adequacy, and accuracy. • Performs oversight functions at assigned facilities without direct supervision and reports progress of work to respective supervisor/commander. • Ensures contractor conformance (through reviews, audits and other surveys) of the contractor’s systems, documentation and other qualitative and quantitative evidence of quality performance in accordance with sound quality management practices, quality provisions of DLA Energy solicitations/contracts, product specifications or other contractual requirements. • Inspects conveyances (tankers, barges, pipeline setup, trucks, railcars, etc.) utilized for transporting petroleum, chemicals, lubricating oils, missile fuels and gases to determine their suitability for intended use. • Observes key operations throughout the procurement process that include manufacturing, production, processing, blending, storage, sampling, testing, shipping, loading, calibration, and documentation. • Analyzes solicitations, contracts and other specialized documents to implement DLA Energy Quality Assurance (QA) procedures to verify that products/services offered by the contractor comply with contractual requirements. • Assists in the development of, and monitors Memoranda of Understanding, and Memoranda of Agreement with foreign nations, and/or foreign Contractor Owned-Contractor Operated (COCO) facilities. • Reviews contingency plans/orders and prepares/provides input to quality surveillance annexes. • Performs ancillary functions as Property Administrator and Contracting Officer Representative (COR) at Government Owned-Contractor Operated (GOCO) and COCO intermediate Defense Fuel Support Points (DFSP)s.
