What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

The SkillBridge opportunity at DTR is the DTR Tech Development Program, structured as a 61- to 90-day hybrid placement in the Trailer Technician role at the Tech I–III level. Interns work in a shop environment performing routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on trailers and related equipment. Specific tasks include inspecting and diagnosing mechanical issues, completing trailer body work and undercarriage repairs such as air bag replacement, cross-members, dolly legs, and tandem systems, and documenting action plans for all repairs following established checklists and protocols.

The work is physically demanding — the role is classified as heavy work, requiring the ability to exert up to 100 pounds occasionally — and is performed primarily in a shop setting, both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to temperature changes, fumes, moving mechanical parts, and loud noise. Personal protective equipment is required at all times. Interns are expected to work independently as well as alongside a team, and must supply their own tools and safety gear.

This role requires solid knowledge of mechanical tools, service and diagnostic equipment, and repair procedures. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent communication and customer service skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Key Responsibilities Inspect, analyze, and diagnose trailers and related equipment for mechanical issues and faulty parts. Perform requested repairs according to industry standards and manufacturer specifications. Conduct routine maintenance on trailers and related equipment. Complete trailer body work and undercarriage repairs (e.g., air bag replacement, cross-members, dolly legs, tandem systems).Develop and document action plans for all repairs; follow checklists and established protocols. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, including regular care of tools and equipment. Follow all health and safety regulations and best practices. Collaborate with coworkers and support team goals while being able to work independently when needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge & Skill Requirements Experience: 1–2 years of mechanical or equivalent experience. Certifications: ASE certifications highly desired but not required. Must pass pre-employment knowledge/skill test, background check (10-year), and drug/medical physical exam. Proven mechanical aptitude and basic math skills. Ability to read and write in English for documentation and communication. Must have own tools and safety gear (safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, hearing protection).Physical Demands Heavy Work: Exert up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs constantly.
