What these labels mean
MOU active
An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon
The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired
The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated
The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.

About CPI Foundation

CPI Foundation is an approved Department of Defense SkillBridge provider and a partner of the Department of the Interior, the National Park Service, and the U.S. construction industry. The organization operates two distinct programs — a National Park Program and an Industry Internship Program — designed for transitioning active duty service members at all levels from all service branches. CPI's SkillBridge footprint spans 34 program locations across 20 states and the District of Columbia.

The National Park Program places interns at sites such as Alcatraz Island, where participants receive 12 weeks of in-person training that combines classroom instruction, hands-on work, and industry certifications focused on concrete and construction. Housing is provided within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and local transportation is included. The program carries no cost and requires no prior construction experience. Career counseling and nationwide job placement assistance are part of the program, as is available application and transfer credit assistance for college.

The Industry Internship Program runs 61 to 90 days and places interns directly with construction partner companies. Interns work alongside Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Superintendents on active construction projects, or in departments such as scheduling, estimating, or other designated functions. CPI works with each intern and the matched company to set an individual schedule. The grounding data notes that CPI has logged more than 250,000 training hours, engaged more than 100 partners, completed more than 130 projects, and contributed 176,160 work hours toward national park maintenance needs.
