What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

About Concord University

Concord University is a public, career-focused liberal arts institution located in Athens, West Virginia, in rural southern West Virginia. Founded in 1872 as a state Normal School to prepare teachers, the university has grown from that origin through normal school and state college status to a university offering master's degrees. Its primary service region covers eight counties in southern West Virginia and two counties in Virginia, and the institution has a long history of providing access to higher education for first-generation college students.

The university participates in the DoD SkillBridge program through several in-person internship tracks, all based on campus. Depending on the role, a SkillBridge intern at Concord may work within IT Support Services, assisting with hardware and software installation, Help Desk support, and campus internet services. Other tracks place interns with licensed tradespeople in plumbing, electrical maintenance, or HVAC and refrigeration systems across campus facilities including residence halls and the cafeteria. A business administration track supports faculty and staff through general administrative functions, while a public safety track involves campus patrol and coordination with university departments to maintain a secure environment.

One additional track, through the Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success, focuses specifically on supporting student veterans. An intern in that role would assist veterans with college applications, VA benefits, financial aid, and military transcript processing, while also connecting veteran students with career services and regional organizations that support the veteran community.
