What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

Summary

This course prepares students to become effective construction managers by combining technical knowledge with leadership and project oversight skills. It covers key areas such as construction methods, cost estimating, scheduling, contract administration, safety regulations, and quality control. Students learn how to plan and manage construction projects from start to finish, coordinate teams of workers and subcontractors, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Emphasis is also placed on communication, problem-solving, and the use of modern construction technologies.

What the work involves

Oversee building projects from planning through completion, ensuring they are finished on time, within budget, and according to specifications. Key Responsibilities: Plan, coordinate, and supervise construction projects Develop project schedules, budgets, and timelines Hire and manage subcontractors, laborers, and other staff Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and legal requirements Review blueprints and technical documents Monitor progress and resolve issues or delays Communicate with clients, architects, and engineers Conduct site inspections and maintain quality control Skills & Qualifications: Strong leadership and organizational skills Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations Ability to read and interpret blueprints Problem-solving and decision-making abilities Excellent communication skills Degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field (often preferred)Relevant work experience in construction Work Environment: Construction managers split their time between office settings and construction sites, often working under tight deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
