What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

Summary

Come work as a laborer with the engineering staff of the Bighorn National Forest. The incumbent performs a variety of laborer duties in support of road maintenance and/or facility maintenance. The work requires prior work experience or training, some degree of manual skill, and very heavy physical effort.

What the work involves

Performs tasks that require very heavy physical effort and the use of heavy power equipment and common hand tools. Tasks include but are not limited to: 1)Moves heavy freight, furniture, machinery, supplies, equipment and other very heavy items by use of hand trucks or other moving equipment and places or stacks for storage; 2)Packs, loads, and/or unloads heavy bulky materials, equipment, and boxes delivered to the facility; 3) Cuts trees, clears brush, removes rocks, digs ditches and back fills; digs loose bars, digs post holes and plumbs posts; clears and levels ground; replaces barriers, paints or stains; 4) Operates heavy-duty power mowers, weed trimmers, tillers, chain saws, pallet jacks, powered snow blowers, high-pressure sprayers, jackhammers, floor buffers and steam cleaners. 5) Assembles and places a variety of items and structures needed to complete assignments; 6) Cleans, oils, lubricates, and performs minor adjustments on power equipment. 7) Operates motor vehicle in support of operations. As an incidental duty the incumbent may shovel snow, sand and debris; cut and clear small trees and brush along roads and fences; wash and wax cars, boats, and trucks by hand or using a powered buffer; vacuum, mop, wax, and buff floors; empty trash cans; and, wash windows and ceiling fixtures. Opportunities available April through October. No opportunities currently available outside these months.
