What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

What the work involves

We are looking for a Skillbridge Technician to join our Defense & Material Solutions team in Columbus, OH. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, integrating, testing, and troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical systems. You will work with a team on a broad range of equipment at all phases of technological development. An ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter who is able to take concepts and designs and turn them into tangible solutions, including constructing, assembling, re-building, and independently assessing components, sub-systems, and systems. You will provide technical feedback and recommendations for improvement to a team of engineers and collaborators. KEY QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in reading technical drawings, schematics, and sketches; experience testing a wide range of mechanical and/or electrical systems; exhibits technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills to complete complex assignments and demonstrates the ability to solve complex problems. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience operating hand-tools and common machine tools; experience with complex mechanical and electrical systems in a maritime, avionics, or undersea environment; experience and/or qualification in a quality control/assurance program (e.g. Quality assurance craftsman or inspector).
