What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

Summary

The Atlanta Electrical Contractors Association (AECA) recognizes that the success of every project depends on the skill, reliability, and dedication of field employees. These professionals ensure that commercial and industrial projects are completed accurately, on schedule, and within budget. For decades, field personnel have formed the foundation of the electrical construction industry’s workforce. The Construction Wireman role serves as an entry-level pathway into the trade and represents a critical building block for long-term career development. Experience gained on each jobsite transfers forward, strengthening technical ability, safety awareness, and jobsite efficiency throughout an electrician’s career. Construction Wiremen work under the supervision of Journeyman Wiremen to support the installation of electrical systems, data infrastructure, and fire-alarm components across a wide range of building projects.

What the work involves

Atlanta Area Electrical Contractors – Position Responsibilities Material Installation (65%)Perform installation of materials and components associated with electrical, data, and fire-alarm systems. Duties include, but are not limited to: Cutting and bending conduit Installing Metal Clad (MC) cable Pulling and routing conductors Ceiling and in-wall rough-in work Device and fixture installation Final trim-out and system finishing Worksite Clean-Up (20%)Maintain a safe and organized jobsite by collecting scrap and unused materials, general debris removal, sweeping, and ensuring the work area remains clean and hazard-free. Apprenticeship Training (15%)Participate in structured apprenticeship education by attending formal, in-person classroom and hands-on training sessions one day per week from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
