What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

Amentum is a government services contractor whose work spans intelligence and national security, advanced testing and training, engineering, and aviation solutions. Nearly a third of the company's workforce is made up of veterans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Internship roles vary by location and contract and have included traffic management and cargo handling, fire protection coordination, aircraft egress system maintenance, and nondestructive inspection of aerospace weapon systems components.

Depending on the assignment, a SkillBridge intern at Amentum may perform duties such as processing and documenting freight, conducting fire protection facility inspections, maintaining aircraft ejection seats and canopy systems, or using penetrant, eddy current, magnetic particle, radiographic, and ultrasonic methods to inspect aerospace structures. Work is performed in support of government contracts and is conducted under applicable performance work statements, quality management systems, and technical procedures. Interns work alongside full-time staff on tasks directly tied to the contract mission.

Summary

Performs traffic management cargo handling duties. Operates general and special purpose vehicles, materials handling equipment and cranes. Transports, handles and processes cargo for transportation modes. Loads/offloads 463L pallets, containers and trucks. Ensures compliance with the applicable USAF mandatory requirements. Prepares freight offered for shipment to include packing, crating, weighing, marking, labeling and documenting cargo. Ensures hazardous materials are properly inspected, documented and certified. NDI Technician II Amentum is looking for a qualified Non-Destruction Inspection Technician (NDI) II in our Solomons Island, MD location. The Non-Destruction Inspection Technician (NDI) II inspects aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods and performs fluid analysis. Determine test method and prepare fluids and parts for nondestructive inspection. Interpret nondestructive inspection test results and provide information about defects to repair center. Analyze wear metal content reports on engine lubricating oil and other fluids and recommend corrective action. Establish radiation areas for radiographic operations. Compute and monitor personal exposure areas for radiographic operations and monitor personnel exposure data. Perform nondestructive inspection on structures, components, and systems. Detect flaws such as cracks, delamination’s, voids, processing defects, and heat damage using penetrant, eddy current, magnetic particle, radiographic, optical, and ultrasonic test equipment. Determine metallurgical information of components according to alloy, temper, conductivity, and associated factors. Operate, maintain, and inspect nondestructive equipment. Perform operator maintenance and service inspections on shop equipment and tools. Ensure lock out and tag out procedures are accomplished prior to maintenance on equipment. Perform silver recovery functions. Handle and dispose of hazardous waste and materials. Perform other qualified duties as assigned. Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day. Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands. Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
