What these labels mean

MOU active: An MOU is the agreement between an employer and the SkillBridge program. When it expires, the employer has to renew it before it can take new service members.
MOU expires soon: The agreement ends within 90 days. That is not a reason to rule a program out. It is a reason to ask the employer where the renewal stands.
MOU expired: The date on the government listing has passed. We still show the program, because hiding it would shrink this directory in a way we could not explain. Confirm status with the employer before you apply.
MOU date not stated: The government listing carries no expiration date for this organization.
Detailed listing: The employer filled in most of its record: length, delivery method, eligibility, and a description of the work.
Partial listing: Some of those fields are filled in and some are blank.
Sparse listing: Very little of the record is filled in. That is common, and it is not a judgment about the program or the employer. It does mean you will have to ask them more questions directly.

We are looking to place an Environmental Specialist intern on DoD facilities to gain expertise with HAZMAT programs, customer support, military software, and monthly reports.

What the work involves

RESPONSIBILITIES: • Management of hazardous waste collection, characterization, storage and shipments • Expertise using EESOH-MIS for tracking hazardous waste and hazardous materials, approving processes, preparing shipments, data pulls and ad-hoc reporting • Experience using military database • Support of Hazardous Material (HM) program • Quarterly HW and HM shop inspections • Assist with compilation of monthly report of office activities • Customer support including answering phones and emailsJOB REQUIREMENTS: • Associates degree or higher may be required • Experience as an environmental specialist for a minimum of 3 years • Possess or gain knowledge of the AF EESOH-MIS Program and HAZMART operations • Working knowledge of Federal environmental statutes and State-specific regulations pertaining to HW and HM • Familiarity with OSHA, Air Force, and Installation Storage, Handling, and Transportation regulations. • Ability to drive forklifts, trucks, and operate warehouse tools and equipment (i.e. Drum lifts, pallet jack, etc.) • Strong written and oral communication skills and proficiency with MS Office applications (Word and Excel) is required • Individuals already possessing an adjudicated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) are preferred or the ability to successfully pass a federal agency background check is required • Prior military experience preferred • Valid Driver’s License required
